First Sydney Derby at Bankwest Stadium officially Sold Out

Saturday’s first Hyundai A-League Sydney Derby at Bankwest Stadium is officially a sellout.

The match will mark the Wanderers first Derby back at the club’s spiritual home with a capacity crowd set to fill the Stadium.

RBB in the north, The Cove in the south – this is an atmosphere set to rival the great European football derbies.

While there have been many intense confrontations between the two clubs since the 2012/13 season, Saturday’s first Derby of the season at Bankwest Stadium promises to be one for the ages.

For the Wanderers faithful and players, it will be the first Derby back at home at the new Bankwest Stadium and adding more spice to the fixture is the fact that both sides have had an unbeaten starts to the Hyundai A-league season in the opening two rounds.

Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said Saturday night’s derby will be a night to remember.

“It has been three seasons in the making but tomorrow night the 22nd Sydney Derby will be one to remember,” said Tsatsimas.

“The passion and energy will turn Parramatta red and black on Saturday and with the match selling out we can’t wait to see all our members and fans experience a derby in the best stadium in the country.

“We’re urging all of our 15,382 members to be out in full voice on Saturday night and create an atmosphere inside Wanderland that will show the pride we all have in this club, this team and our region.”

Bankwest Stadium CEO Daryl Kerry said sporting fans were clearly looking forward to the first Hyundai A-League Sydney Derby at the new Western Sydney stadium.

“Everyone is excited to see the Wanderers back playing in Parramatta at Bankwest Stadium, a stadium built by the NSW Government with the fan experience front of mind.

“The Derby has become one of the premier events on the NSW sporting calendar and the atmosphere at the stadium on Saturday night will be something to behold.

“Bankwest Stadium was built for the fans and has quickly become a focal point for the community and embraced by the greater sporting public.”
