Two concert spectaculars, the HSBC Rugby 7s and a jam-packed NRL, A-League and Super Rugby calendar . . . the 2020 event calendar is going to be bigger and better at Bankwest Stadium.
More than 500,000 fans have already passed through the turnstiles at the Stadium since opening in April and the big events are coming thick and fast in the New Year.
Thirty-six sport and entertainment events are already locked in at Bankwest Stadium and they don’t get much bigger than the historic first concerts at the venue.
Aussie Rock legends Cold Chisel and Hoodoo Gurus will be joined by Birds of Tokyo and Busby Marou for an epic celebration of Aussie Rock on Australia Day weekend, Friday 24 January.
And on Saturday 7 March global music icon Elton John hits Bankwest Stadium, bringing his famous flair and unforgettable music for the final Australian show of his Elton Farewell Tour. It could be the last opportunity Australian audiences ever have to see the music legend.

We move from the stage to the pitch for the HSBC Rugby 7s on 1-2 February when the unique colour and atmosphere of 7s rugby comes to the Stadium over two massive days.
The footy action continues in March with the return of the NRL, and with 21 regular season games locked in at Bankwest Stadium it’s going to be a massive year at Sydney’s new home of rugby league.
Four NRL clubs will play home matches at the Stadium in season 2020 – the Parramatta Eels (11 games), Wests Tigers (4 games), Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (4 games) and South Sydney Rabbitohs (2 games).
The Eels will open the 2020 season with a Thursday night blockbuster against Western Sydney rivals the Bulldogs on 12 March at 8pm . . . a game that will be built into a major event for the City of Parramatta.
And it’ll be a genuine battle of the fans in the traditional Easter Monday clash when the Wests Tigers host the Eels on Monday 14 April.
With ANZ Stadium being decommissioned in late June to allow works to commence on the redevelopment of Sydney’s major stadium, the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs will move home games to Bankwest Stadium after Round 15.
The Western Sydney Wanderers are midway through their debut Hyundai A-League season at Bankwest Stadium and have already recorded a famous victory in the first ever Sydney Derby at the Stadium, but 2020 will see a run of big games as the Red & Black look to make the Finals for the first time since 2017.
Among the biggest games is the second Sydney Derby at the Stadium on Saturday 24 March and with both Sydney Clubs flying high it’s not to be missed.
The NSW Waratahs will be back at Bankwest Stadium in 2020 with three home games locked in, including blockbuster matches against Queensland Reds (Saturday 18 April) and the Brumbies (Saturday 23 May). All three Bankwest Stadium fixtures will kick off at the fan-friendly time of 7.15pm.
