Today marks one month since the Wanderers’ historic game against English club Leeds United and with the Hyundai A-League season on the horizon the excitement for more football at Bankwest Stadium is growing.

From the raucous noise in the stands to a homecoming goal and a last-gasp winner – Wanderers v Leeds was an event to savour for players and fans alike.

Western Sydney local and Wanderers’ captain on the night, Mitchell Duke, said on the night that Bankwest Stadium has ushered in a new age for the Club.

“This is an exciting time for us, I’m just loving the atmosphere here, it’s been amazing.” said Duke, speaking after the game.

“It was great to see everyone back here in Parramatta with great support behind us.

“The Stadium created an unbelievable atmosphere and there’s loads of things to look forward to this season.”

Just under two months from now, the Wanderers will be back at Bankwest Stadium . . . this time kicking off their 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season against the Central Coast Mariners on Friday 12 October – a homage to their first game in Parramatta back in 2012.

With 13 home games scheduled at the Stadium, and the Red and Black’s famous support behind them, the Wanderers are ready to turn Bankwest Stadium into their fortress.
