Two Sydney Derbies and a historic first home game highlight Wanderers’ debut season at Bankwest Stadium

A Sydney Derby double-dose, a historic return to Parramatta and a New Year’s Day special . . . the Western Sydney Wanderers’ first season at Bankwest Stadium is one to savour.

The Wanderers will play 13 home fixtures in the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season, their first back at their spiritual home in Parramatta since 2015.

The Club’s first game in Round 1 of the season will be a throwback to their first ever home game in the A-League when they take on the Central Coast Mariners on Saturday 12 October.

Two weeks later the passion and excitement of Sydney’s biggest rivalry hits Bankwest Stadium when the Wanderers take on Sydney FC in the first Sydney Derby on Saturday 26 October.

November will see the Wanderers host the Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City at the Stadium before a Christmas season special against A-League newcomers Western United FC on Friday 20 December.

The Wanderers’ traditional New Year’s Day fixture will have the Brisbane Roar making their second appearance at Bankwest Stadium.

Games against Perth Glory (19 January), Newcastle Jets (15 February) and Adelaide United (21 February) will round out the Red and Blacks’ home games in the summer.

The highly-anticipated second Sydney Derby will be played on Saturday 21 March before the Wanderers close out their first regular season at Bankwest Stadium with games against Perth Glory (4 April), Melbourne Victory (11 April) and Wellington Phoenix (25 April).

The Wanderers made their Bankwest Stadium debut on Saturday 20 July when they played English club Leeds United in the first football game at the Stadium.

The Stadium’s new safe standing area in the Wanderers’ home end will be in place for all of the Red and Blacks’ home games this season.
